New Orleans, LA (February 17, 2020) — A 62-year-old motorcyclist died after crashing with an 18-wheeler on I-10 Monday night. The accident occurred at around 6:37 p.m. on the I-10 Highrise Bridge.
The New Orleans Police Department states that the motorcyclist, whose name has not been released, was driving eastbound behind the 18-wheeler. When both vehicles reached the top of the bridge, the motorcycle struck the back of the trailer, ejecting the driver from his motorcycle.
The 62-year-old man was rushed to the hospital where he later died from his injuries. Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
